The Students of IMSchools Paoli Welcome “String Variations”!

strings

On October 30, IMSchools at Paoli received a beautiful presentation by “String Variations”. We were honored to have the musicians who quite recently played for the Prince of Monaco at the opening of the Grace Kelly exhibition at the Michener Museum in Doylestown!

The children learned about different parts of violin and cello and that the bow hair is made of up to 200 hairs from a horse tail.  The musicians performed different type of music: classical pieces by Mozart and Hayden, as well as folk music and children songs.  The best part of all was that the children were not just the audience but they actively participated by singing, clapping, playing instruments and conducting.  We hope they visit us again!

COMING IN FOR A LANDING AT WILMINGTON!

COPTER1

On Tuesday, October 29th, International Montessori School at Wilmington, located on Middleton Drive in the Pike Creek area, received a visit from Delaware’s State Police officers, Captain Jeff Evans, Corporal Joe Thuit and Corporal Ted Stipa, with their police helicopter.

This visit was a part of IMSchools recognition of Community Helpers Month. Captain Evans spoke to the children about their personal safety and how to identify a police officer. The officers explained their important work to the children, and the many different ways in which the police helicopter is used and how. The children were able to see, touch and board the helicopter, while they learned about all of its different features. The visit was a real treat for all!

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Captain Evans for making this visit happen for our children, and to the entire Delaware State Police Department for the many sacrifices they make every day to maintain order and safety for all of us in the state of Delaware.
